Sorry for intruding late in the 18-problem.

My latin grammar says that numbers compound with 8 are ***generally*** in
the form of duede...
My dictionnary , for 18, gives:
decem et octo
duedeviginti
***octodecim*** (this one in Titus Livius, Frontin, Eutropius):
I would say that we have not to be more purists than Latin authors were...
