The Texas Memorial Museum of the University of Texas at Austin seeks a
Collections Manager for Ichthyology and Herpetology. Requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences and experience with natural
history of vertebrates. Functions include 1) managing activities of the
ichthyology and herpetology laboratory and collections (including frozen
tissues), and occasionally bird and mammal collections; 2)
computer-cataloguing and processing specimen loans; 3) administrative
functions such as responding to inquiries and filing; 4) supervising
student personnel and receiving visitors.
Applicants must have experience with a personal computer or microcomputer
and a mainframe computer terminal; managing employees and projects;
preparing reports; supervising the acquiring and storing of supplies,
materials and equipment in a biological laboratory. Preferred qualifications
include experience in vertebrate collections and a demonstrated fluency in

Expected salary range $18,660-25,500 but is negotiable depending on
qualifications and experience.
