Temporary Post - Botany Curation

The Botany Department of The Natural History Museum is recruiting a
temporary member of staff to assist with the curation of its collections.
These collections date back to the late 16th century, are worldwide and
contain c.6 million specimens.
The post-holder will assist with routine curatorial duties, including
the filing of new material, dealing with loan requests, assisting visitors
to the Department, and the digitizing and databasing of specimens.  S/he
will will have particular responsibilities for the Museum's holdings of
Flowering Plants, and will also spend 10% of his/her time working on a
database of seaweed type material.
Physical energy, reliability, commitment, and the ability to work with
minimal supervision, are more important than botanical expertise.
The post will be for three months starting as soon as possible.  Payment
will be based on an annual salary of 14,500 pounds sterling.
