The term Biodiversity

Hello dear all,

It all started simply with diversity (without bio!) in the 50ies and 60ies.=
=20
They calculated diversity indices and postulated models for diversity. SO=
=20
far, it was purely scientific stuff.

Biodiversity as a more political paradigm turned up in the mid-80ies.
A certain Thomas Lovejoy was involved in a project about forest fragments
in Manaus, Amazonia and made reports about this to the president and=20
governmental agencies of the United States using the term biodiversity.

Wilson turned the term popular to a wide range of experts and lay men=20
by his popular books.
