emulators and cladistic programs

John Trueman wrote about emulators and cladistic programs. It would be
interesting to know if someone has made speed comparisons. I have personal
experience only about trying out PAUP 3.1.1 with the Executor (Ardi) test
version on PC and it ran smoothly enough to be useful. What about
SoftWindows? Comments that I have heard say that it's slow. It would be
really nice to learn results of a test made with comparable CPUs and the
latest OS of both platforms.
