Dear all,
Then there is the heroine in "The Piano", who gets so bored with life in New
Zealand that she is actually seen leafing through a herbarium. As far as I
could make out, the film shows a perfectly authentic Victorian New Zealand
fern herbarium, with, to my special gratification, a perfectly good specimen of
Pyrrosia eleagnifolia in it (only it wasn't called so then). She was dumb, but
not a blonde. Yours,
