Here in Brazil there is a famous tree of the family Melastomataceae (I thin=

actually a whole bunch of different species).
They change their corolla colour as well. I didn't observe it, whether it=

goes from pink to white or from white to pink.
But the trees look always bi-colored because of this.
This Bi-coloration makes any evolutionary sense?
