Value of an herbarium specimen

What are the "standard" dollar amounts that have been used for the "value"
of an "average" herbarium specimen, and the sources for those values?  I've
used those figures in the past, but I can't put my hands on the values and
sources for those values at the moment.  I remember it being discussed on
TAXACOM but can't find it in the archives, either. Hey, folks, I'm not
trying to start a thread on how misleading those figures are; we all know
that.  But we nevertheless need to have them around for various reasons...
