Regarding the number 18 in Latin, my source for the following information
comes from my 2000 page Latin dictionary which is like the" Oxford English
Dictionary" of Latin.

 Under "duo-", I found "duodeviginti" the cardinal number, and
"duodevicesimus, -a, -um" the ordinal number. These forms were used by
Plautus, Cicero, J. Caesar, Cato, Pliny, Eutropius and Varro.

 "Octodecim" is considered "mostly post-classical for duodeviginti", and was
used by Livy, Frontinus and Eutropius.

I love answering Latin and Greek questions. I was once a Classical languages
