Dear Taxacomers:

The caddisfly family Atriplectididae (Insecta: Trichoptera) contains two
monobasic genera - Atriplectides dubius from Tasmania and SE Australia and
Hughscottiella auricapilla from the Seychelles (Mahe). We have discovered the
family in South America and have specimens (representing at least 2 species
possibly belonging to a new genus) from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and SE Brazil.

Does anyone know of any other animals or plants displaying a similar
distribution (Seychelles-Australia-South America)? Assistance in locating
references to this pattern, including those related to historical biogeography,
would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Ralph Holzenthal
