The Flora of China project is the first internationally based
English-language treatment of the rich flora of China and is overseen
by an international editorial committee of Chinese, North American,
and European botanists.

This is a career oriented position that offers a stimulating challenge
in a professional environment with individuals who share the Garden's
mission "to discover and share knowledge about plants and their
environment in order to preserve and enrich life."

The selected individual will edit manuscripts; verify bibliographical
citations; correspond with co-authors; prepare the scientific index
and the project's newsletter; develop a database regarding the
novelties, nomenclatural changes, and distribution of extensions of
Chinese taxa; complete and update the Chinese taxonomic literature;
produce taxonomic treatments; and create accounts and illustrations,
in collaboration with other Research staff, and make them available on
the Gopher and World Wide Web.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in taxonomy and a strong
knowledge in computer software applications.  We offer outstanding
