What is it?

[David G. Bauman]

We have a plant that needs identification.  The only names we were
given when it was donated were "Morongay" or "Japanese Vegetable
Tree".  Reputedly it came from Hawaii but is native to Japan.  Any
comments/suggestions as to what it may be would be appreciated.
