Why not use the full name provided by editors R. K. Brummitt and C. E.
Powell in their excellent standard, "Authors of Plant Names"? Several
systematics journals suggest this as a resource for authorship, usually for
standardizing the abbreviations of plant names; but there is no reason why
you can't avail yourself of the standardized full names, either.
Brummitt and Powell give "Carl von Linnaeus" as their standardized name and
present all the variations of that name as "synonyms".
