Best, though totalitary, solution of all gender-induced
problems:

(1) Remove from the Code-4 the term "epithet".

(2) Retain the term "specific (subspecific) name" for
    species-group taxa.

(3) Accept all species-group names as mandatory nouns (to escape
    subsequent "justified" emendation, this provision should not
    be limited by the date of publications: all emendations of
    original spelling become unjustified).

And no grammar, dead or live, is necessary to provide binomens
grammatically correct. All become correct!
