The place in Scotland is spelled "Leith" - it is the port of Edinburgh and was
incorporated into Edinburgh in the 1920's, but Leithers" still cling to their
identity. A Germanic "Lieth" rings a bell with me, however; I am sorry I do
not have any gazateers at hand. John

Dear friends:
Does anybody know if there is a city or town in Germany
called "Lieth"? I think it might be close to Hamburg.
Thanks a lot--John Nelson

I know of no German town called Lieth but there is an small town on the
Pentland Firth (Edinburgh, Scotland) of that name.
