COLLECTIONS DATABASE DEVELOPER / PROGRAMMER

1 YEAR FIXED TERM APPOINTMENT

The Natural History Museum currently has a vacancy for a Database Developer/
Programmer, to complete and fully document a PC system for databasing and
managing the collections of specimens held by the Life Science Departments of
the Museum.  You will be required to complete the development of existing
modules, write new modules and document the databasing system, then install
and pilot the system as required and train the curators in its use.

You should preferably have a first degree or HNC in Computer Science or
equivalent, along with database programming experience of networked multi-user
applications in Borland's 16 bit 'Paradox for Windows' and proven ability to
translate approved user requirements into robust, user friendly systems.
Experience of networks, Interbase, ODBC, Windows help files, Microsoft Access,
Visual Basic and SQL server would be desirable.

Starting salary will be up to 25K UKP depending on qualification and
experience.
