ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
BIOLOGIST
Applications are invited for an anticipated tenure-track ASSISTANT
PROFESSORSHIP in the Department of Biological Sciences to begin in
August 1996. We seek an outstanding candidate with demonstrated
excellence in teaching and a primary commitment to undergraduate
teaching and curriculum development. The successful applicant will be
expected to coordinate the Department's curriculum in general biology
and to teach introductory undergraduate biology courses. This
individual also will be expected to collaborate with other science
educators in the natural sciences in the College of Letters and Science.
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to involve
undergraduates in a program of research in their area of expertise.
Background in computer applications in biology is also desirable.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
TERRESTRIAL VERTEBRATE ECOLOGIST
The Department of Biological Sciences, University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, anticipates opening a tenure-track position in
terrestrial vertebrate ecology at the Assistant Professor level. We seek
applicants with broad training and experience involving population
and/or community ecology. Candidates are expected to develop a
vigorous extramurally-funded research program and to supervise PhD
and MS research. The Department has an active research faculty in
ecology and evolution, and the UWM Field Station affords unique
facilities for research and instruction. Teaching responsibilities include
sharing a general ecology course, teaching an advanced course in
ecology or area of organismal specialty, and periodic participation in
the general biology curriculum. Additional information about the
