May I suggest that "North Gore", Ontario, is North Gower.  It is
certainly pronounced "North Gore" by the local inhabitants and someone
collecting there might not have noticed how it was written on the map.  I
don't remember exactly where it is, but it is certainly within commuting
distance of Ottawa.
