Hoyer's solution

For those who still like Hoyer's medium, including most Acarologists
like myself, I have found a good source for lump gum arabic at a local
Indian grocery.  The owner told me he buys the stuff in bulk and
repackages it in plastic bags under the name "eatable gum."  It is
apparently a commonly used thickener in Indian cooking.  One might find
this at other ethnic groceries in larger cities under a variety of
names.  I have made good quality Hoyer's using it.
