Rudolph was not the type

I am sorry that I made a fool of myself when I falsely accused
the Royal British Columbia Museum, Victoria, B.C., Canada of
using the type specimen as a Christmas decoration. I apologize
to the Royal B.C. Museum, whose good reputation was always close
to my heart and mind, and I thank to Dave Nagorsen that he
pointed out my blunder. I have always detested people who make
qualified statements in fields they don't understand and I am
sorry that I have joined their ranks as a botanist talking about
zoological objects.
