The message from Krishtalka simply drives home the following point:
responsible decisions can be expected only when those making the
decisions will be directly affected by the consequences of their
decision.  This is a paraphrase of something I read some years ago and I
believe it is generally true.  As long as we have politicians who are
immune to the consequences of their actions (they are receiving their
checks, theu are flying off on their junkets, etc.), we cannot expect to
have responsible decision-making.
