Neolithic scales

Dear Netters

I received prehistoric fishscales (probabely *Coregonus*). Does anybody
know of specific protocols for extracting DNA from such scales or would a
standard protocol be efficient enough? Ancient DNA will most probabely be
fragmented I will therefore try to analyse microsatellites.

Any comments, tips, and references for further information would be highly
appreciated.
