Dear Taxonomist, Systematist,

Ever been looking for a colleague's address for a quick reference on his/her
latest publication? Or ever wanted to send an announcement to a group of
specialists to inform them about a special workshop or symposium? In many
cases you will find you way but sometimes it is hard to trace a fellow
taxonomist.

To our most recent estimates there are presently only about 5000 (well)
experienced taxonomists in the world. Would it be nice to have a central
point on internet, where you could find the basic information about your
colleagues? To find out what specialists for example work on portunid crabs
or focus their biogeographic work on Malaysia?

Some ETI-Partners suggested that ETI should do something about making
contacting colleagues easier. Other told us that for users of taxonomic
expertise it is nearly impossible to find a specialist and that a
continuously updated on-line directory was badly needed.

Now ETI has her Internet WWW Site set-up we can offer you this on-line
taxonomists directory service. However, we depend on your co-operation to
make it work. Please fill in your "electronic form" and register
yourself. If we all do it we will have a wonderful updated taxonomist
directory.

How does it work? For entering your name and affiliation you just fill in the
form. The procedure is easy and takes only a few minutes. To look up a name
or do any other search, just type in the persons name or
taxonomic group you are interested, in one of the search fields.

We protected the database, meaning that you can't delete or change other
peoples records. If you want to update your form just fill a new one. The ETI
custodian will verify the changes and then delete the old
record.
