Apple do a font called Zeal, which originally came with the Apple Color Printer. This has very
good male and female and other useful symbols.

I would also heartily endorse George Hrusa in the use of PopChar by Gunter Blatschek. This nifty
little thing sits in the corner of your screen and allows you to pop any character into text
without hunting through manuals or Key Caps to find the right key combination. One of the few
Freeware products that is actually useful.
