Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates,  for the
following contract post from 1 January 1997 to 31 December 1999:

The successful candidate will be specifically required to teach course
modules in Plant Taxonomy and related aspects of Botany at undergraduate
and honours levels;   to participate in the day-to-day running and
management of the Selmar Schonland Herbarium, which is run jointly by
the Department of Botany, the Albany Museum and the Range and Forage
Institute; and to participate fully in the department's active
postgraduate training programme.  While the successful candidate will
have the opportunity to participate in existing research programmes
within the Botany Department, the individual will be actively encouraged
to initiate his/her own research projects.
