The Madagascar Conspectus Project wishes to draw your attention to a new
feature on the Madagascar Web
(http://www.mobot.org/MOBOT/Madagasc/welcome.html)
"Malagasy/Indo-Australo-Malesian Phytogeographic Connections" (direct
access: http://www.mobot.org/MOBOT/Madagasc/biomad1.html) is an
electronic version of a paper presented at the recent International
Symposium on the Biogeography of Madagascar, 26-28 September 1995,
Paris, with numerous color distribution maps, images, links, and a full
list of references. In the process of putting it all together for the
Web, I have been forced to ponder a number of issues related to
electronic publishing (format, copyright, etc.). What are people
currently thinking along these lines? For example, should we be
considering modifying our Codes of Nomenclature to allow Web publishing
of new taxa (so many species; too little time)?
