latitude and longitude

        There is a possible solution for conversion of existing locality
data in some parts of North America. For those people that are trying to
determine longitude and latitude for sites which have legal descriptions
(i.e., section, township, and range) it is possible that state geological
surveys have conversion programs. The Kansas Geological Survey has software
for IBM compatible computers called Leo II, which will make this conversion
readily. I do not know how many other states have similar software.
