          Dear Friends:

          This is to inform the botanical community in general that I
          will be leaving The New York Botanical Garden effective
          November 3rd, 1995, and that I will move back to Bogota,
          Colombia, where I will be working for the Instituto de
          Ciencias Naturales of the Universidad Nacional.

          I have spent a little over three years at NYBG, and it is
          not easy to leave.  I have many friends here, and my
          working relationship with the Administration and the staff
          in general is excellent.  It is just that the opportunity to
          return to Colombia was extremely appealing to me.
