          Professor Mary P. Winsor is from the Institute for the
          History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the
          University of Toronto.  She is a leading authority on the
          history of biology and its institutions.  Her latest book,
          "Reading the Shape of Nature: Comparative Zoology at the
          Agassiz Museum" (University of Chicago Press, 1991), will be
          the basis for this lecture.  It will address the nature and
          importance of museums in general, and should interest anyone
          who wants to understand them better.

          THIS LECTURE IS FREE OF CHARGE.  However, due to limited
          seating, RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY.
