consumption thread

Have been lurking along with the us (bad) vs them (want to be bad) thread
and have two points (quick the D button). (1) All this talk about the
automobile might be mute - the petroleum energy pimple is going to be very
brief. Technology ....?. (2) I think many folks contributing to this line
might need to remember scale and basic (paleo)ecology. Neither care
much about one species, no matter how fond we are of ourselves.
