cool drying

I've come to the conclusion that drying plants in a press at as low
a temperature as possible is the best strategy. Of course, it takes
longer to dry them that way.

As far as color retention in flower parts, one of my volunteers has
consistently been using absorbent paper towels on BOTH sides of a
fresh plant as it goes into the press. He has achieved some truly
excellent color retention (such as with Rhexia)...and he doesn't use
artificial heat in the process...
