FNA (any volume)

Bruce:
Why will we not see FNA (any volume) on the Web in an interactive format
(e.g. SGML)? The other products are fine (I love the sight of my FNA
volumes on the shelf), but they should be BY-products of the truly useful
form (fully searchable, interactive with specimen databases, etc. etc.).
If the biodiversity community is to prove our usefulness to the world at
large, we should be taking a truly future-thinking approach...and, I
would think that leading institutions such as MO would be on the leading
edge of doing that. As wonderful as gopher was a year ago, it's already
becoming passe'. The community should be getting the products of our
labors _before_ the publishers do, not after.
Cheers,
M
