What you appear to be missing is, that (1) your could call it either a
"tomato", or "pommodoro" or "tomate" or "tomaat" or its Chinese, Yapanese,
Russian equivalent.... Selecting English as preferred language may seem
logical, but noone can predict what language will be the dominant one
within, say, a century, and (2) what tomato would you be referring to?
there's more than one taxon that fits in this category.
