Confidence

The discussion on determining levels of confidence for taxonomic ID
reminds me of my first visit to Kew Herbarium.  I was discussing a
particular specimen with a specialist of the group.  When asked "what do
you think this is" the eminent, white-haired taxonomist replied "I don't
think, I guess".
