Mapping Programs

We have been very pleased with Mapinfo for Urban/ Suburban areas.  We are
just now beginning to convert Arc/Info files into Mapinfo for natural
areas.  Mapinfo will probably become a standard for desktop mapping,
since Microsoft is bundling a watered-down version with Excel.  The
learning curve on Mapinfo is much shorter than Arc/Info.  The few
features that you give up using Mapinfo will be worth the number of hours
you will save.
