biology and botany - a reply

May I hasten to point out that the journal formerly called Systematic
Zoology is now called Systematic Biology?

I think that there are individuals and cliques in educational institutes
who promote an aspect of zoology over any and all of those of botany.
There are also educational institutes (and I have experienced them) where
there is more co-authoring between some of the zoologists and botanits than
there is between some of the zoologists.

Some of the problem is scientific snobbery (we zoologists are better than
you botanists), some of it is simply science friction.
