permits for visiting scholars

Perhaps an interim solution would be a directory of contacts in each
country for more info on permit requirements. At least the phone/fax
numbers should not change as much as the permits/policies. Still, even
that list could get bogged down with agency numbers for state, provincial,
municiple, federal, local, private, etc. contacts for each place one could
possibly visit. Multiply that times the number of countries and . . .

 . . .sheesh, forget I even suggested a phone/fax directory!
