video images and identification

We started tinkering with plant images captured from camcorder tapes
early this year and have progressed, at roughly weekly intervals, to
experiment with lighting, magnification, etc.  The pages at:

carry examples of images taken from hi-8 film using a low-end video
capture board.  Direct imaging (no film) would probably be a bit
sharper as would a dedicated camera (as opposed to a camcorder)
connected to a scope with good lighting control.
