OPENING FOR SYSTEMATIC BOTANIST AT THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Institute of Systematic Botany of The New York Botanical Garden is pleased
to announce an opening for a position of Assistant Curator.  Qualifications
are: 1) a Ph.D. in systematic botany, 2) demonstrated research interests
(monographic and/or floristic) in the flowering plants of the New World as
evidenced by publication in peer reviewed journals and/or the completion of an
outstanding Ph.D. dissertation, 3) the interest and ability to utilize large
herbarium and library collections, 4) the ability to develop or continue an
active field program, 5) a willingness to participate in Garden activities such
as scientific publication and teaching, and 6) a willingness to seek external
sources of funding.  Interested applicants should send their c.v., statement of
research interests, reprints, and the names of five colleagues willing to
provide letters of recommendation to: Dr. Scott A. Mori, Director, Institute of
