CHAIR

The Department of Biology at the College of Charleston (South Carolina)
invites application and nominations for Department Chair.
The College of Charleston is located in downtown Charleston
on the coast of South Carolina and has about 10,000
undergraduate and graduate students.  The Department of Biology has 26
full-time faculty members on the main campus and at the Grice Marine
Biological Laboratory on Charleston harbor, representing the full range of
biological disciplines.  The department has a total of about 1000 majors
and offers the B. A. and B. S. degrees with emphases in general, marine,
and molecular biology.  The department also offers the M. S. degree in
marine biology with about 50 students.  For more information on the

should possess effective administrative and leadership skills
appropriate to a department that is dedicated to a balanced program of
