SURINAME'S LACK OF CASH TO PROMPT SALE OF RAIN FOREST (220 Chicago Tribune
8/14) -- In desperate need of cash, Suriname is expected in the next two months
to grant three Asian timber companies the right to log 7 million acres of
virgin rain forest, or nearly a quarter of the national territory touted to be
one of the pristine rain forests on Earth.
All the animals and plants has to be destroy, no permits for collecting or
export available.
