Fortunately, most if not all of that music and speech on (still extant)
old was phonograph drums _is_ accessible to us on modern media because
someone took the effort to transcribe it (even if the drums have since been
destroyed/lost). I'm sure that when audio cd's become dinosaurs, someone
will have yet again transcribed the old time music/speech to yet the
next modern medium. And, so it will be with valued (electronic) systematics
publications.
