If one can extrapolate from this that you meant that if one has the
financial resources, it's all right to have more than one child, I
disagree.  A graduate student told me recently that she had just had her
5th child, but quickly added that 'they're all paid for' (her husband is
a physician), as if that made it o.k.  To me, that's the height of
irresponsibility - a biologist should know better - and the fact that
they have sufficient financial backing to support that number of children
is irrelevant.  I also cannot help wondering if there is an element of
ego in all this.hise desire to live on....r
