PLANT SYSTEMATIST/
EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST
The Division of Biological Sciences, University of California, Davis,
invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant
Professorship in the Section of Evolution and Ecology. The position could
include an appointment in the Agricultural Experiment Station. Candidates
must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in biological sciences or a related field.
Candidates are expected to have an outstanding, innovative research program
in plant systematics and evolutionary biology, and to have a strong
knowledge of plant diversity. Teaching responsibilities include a general
course in plant systematics, emphasizing principles and including a broad
survey of angiosperm evolution, participation in the introductory curriculum
in general biology and/or evolution, and specialized courses at the graduate
level. Applicants should send (1) a curriculum vitae, (2) copies of
published and in press manuscripts, (3) a description of current and
projected research interests, and (4) a summary of teaching interests and
experience, and have three letters of recommendation sent to:
