The Museum of Paleontology seeks TWO paleontologists/collection
managers with expertise in the areas of paleobotany and vertebrate
paleontology.  The successful applicants will manage the Museum's
extensive collections of fossil plants and vertebrates, and will
direct activities of part-time student employees in areas of
collection management in their respective sections.

The Museum curates one of the largest paleontological collections in
the United States.  To fulfill its mission of research, public
outreach, and information management, its immediate objectives are to
continue to develop its research productivity, its database management
and system capabilities, it conservational and curatorial practices
and techniques, and its educational innovation and communication.
Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to this mission.

Duties will include the maintenance and curation of fossil specimens,
entering and updating of museum records, and the handling of loan
requests and returns within each section. The Museum Scientist will
also prepare, arrange and care for specimens to assure their
preservation and availability for research and teaching, and will
supervise the use of related Museum
facilities and equipment. The position also requires occasional
assistance in Museum-sponsored field projects, exhibit planning and
preparation, public out reach programs, and the provision of
information to the public, media, and governmental agencies.

Either a Master's or Ph.D. degree is required together with: (1)
demonstrated skill with the requisite fossil taxon, and (2) collateral
experience in either database management, system administration or
museum conservation practices.

Salary range: $28,400- $42,600/year depending on qualifications.
