Looking for Geomyoidea

        Hi all ---

From being a lurker, I know that Taxacom is a very
effective way to put out a call for specimens. So, I am going to
go to the well too, hoping it has not run dry. I am looking
for modern and fossil pocket gopher and mice (Geomyoidea). I am
especially interested in tracking down the fossil material.
Recent pocket gopher and pocket mice specimens are well represented
at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology here in Berkeley.

I am a graduate student at UC Berkeley (as you might have
guessed from the above part) and am working on a major phylogenetic
revision of these taxa, including some reworking of taxanomic
characters. I would very much like to hear from anyone who can help
me out. Please send e-mail to robg at fossil.berkeley.edu. Thanks
a lot.

Cheers,
