bird collecton on internet

A reference catalog to the Slater Museum of Natural History's bird
collection is accessible via internet on the Biodiversity and Biological
Collection (BBC) gopher (huh.harvard.edu 70) and on the University of Puget
Sound VAX via telnet.  To access the latter, email a request for
instructions to slater at ups.edu.   On both systems, records can be searched
by genus, species, family, date, location, and preparation.  Specimens are
available for research-related loans and we are interested in increasing
representation through exchanges.
