Dear Fernando:

How, if one does not have enough familiarity with the species in a genus to
identify a specimen, can one have enough information to be sure that a speciemen
represents a "phylogenetic separate entity". In saying this, I am, of course,
assuming that the expression means that we know the evolution of the group
well enough to postulate its phylogenetic history - and that a "phylogenetic
separate entity" means something more than a satisfactory taxonomic species.
