Magellan NAV5000PRO vs NAV5000D
These are *not* the same model.  The 5000D is a navigational (not survey)
model able to do a new form of differential processing using fixed base
stations as the "second unit"  (this may in fact be the one-unit differential
you heard/saw mentioned).  So far (rather, as of Dec '92) I believe a small
part of the US west coast had such systems installed.  I think it's the US
Coast Guard that is implementing it.   The catalog price for the NAV5000PRO
sounds about right.
