 Adrian
Thanks for the forward. I’ll post it.
As to Bruise I didn’t make it to NY either. As for the review it was a pleasure. The book is challenging in all the right ways making the job of reviewer a pleasure. Let’s hope it generates some interest

Hi Duncan,

I got sent this but it seems more appropriate for you.

Also thank you so much for your review of Bruise. I wanted to say so in person, but then I never ended up in NY. I thought it was excellent.

Best,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I’m writing from Seven Stories Press. I hope August is treating you nicely.

I’m sure you’re very busy, but I wanted to share with you a new novel we’re out with by the prolific Charley Rosen on October 28, 2025: Dribbling a Basketball on the Road to Damascus<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sevenstories.com%2Fbooks%2F4751-dribbling-a-basketball-on-the-road-to-damascus&data=05%7C02%7Csport_literature_association%40lists.ku.edu%7C885e4d7ea52248dd594f08ddd76d3cf2%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C638903586382741170%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=wiK6IFr1H%2FSpejLGLCkfRlx%2FgXlliOX9%2BpTMzRyyeDg%3D&reserved=0>.

The Wall Street Journal calls Charley Rosen “The game’s foremost literary chronicler.”

DRIBBLING A BASKETBALL ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS is a gritty—and oftentimes funny—coming-of-age story that takes us from a very tall boy’s discovery of his love of basketball to a young man who engages in point-shaving while a college player on his way to NBA brilliance.

The most autobiographical yet of Charley Rosen’s many works about basketball, this novel follows Chazz Klein from the streets of the Bronx, to Metropolitan College, to the Knicks (by way of the Detroit Pistons). There is a shadow that hangs over Chazz throughout his journey as he encounters a cast of unruly characters on his way to finding long-lasting meaning. The book functions as a kind of love-letter to New York City’s past, and sheds light on both the sheer beauty and ugliness of the game.

Rosen is native of the Bronx and longtime pal of legendary basketball guru Phil Jackson. He is a member of the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame and the Bronx Jewish Hall of Fame. Rosen led the league in technical fouls during each of his six years as a coach in the now-defunct Continental Basketball Association. Since then, he has become the world’s foremost writer of fiction and nonfiction on the subject of basketball, chronicling the drama that takes place both on and off the court. Dribbling a Basketball on the Road to Damascus is Rosen’s 29th book, and 14th novel.

I know you've covered sports books in the past, and we would love to have Charley and his new book on your radar for. I think it could be of great interest.

I've attached a PDF of the book to this email. You can find more info below my signature. Please let me know if I can provide you anything else.

Many thanks for your time and consideration. We’re honored and excited to be publishing this one.

All best,

~Brett
